2024년 10월 어느 순간 생각했던 것을 11월이 되어서야 실행했다: “BITL” 만들기.
“BITL”은 Before It’s Too Late의 약자로, 이 웹사이트는 너무 늦기 전에 한 마디라도 기록을 해두기 위한 방책이다. 웹사이트 주소는 jaeyongpark.net/BITL이다.
당연히도, 웹사이트에 남기는 모든 내용은 완결되지 않은, 잠정적인 것들이다. 실제로 써봐야 알겠지만, 기록을 남기는 시점의 순간적인 정서나 상황에 더 큰 영향을 받을테니, 다소간의 시간이 지난 뒤에는 스스로 보기에도 수정해야 마땅하다는 생각이 드는 내용이 많을 수 밖에 없겠다.
완결되지 않은 내용을, 원하기만 한다면 누구나 볼 수 있는 웹페이지에 남겨두는 것은 유효한 행위일까? 결론이 아니며 심지어 스스로도 반박하게될지 모르는 내용을 공유하는 건 스스로의 취약함을 드러내는 일일 수도 있다.
이 행위가 유효하게 되려면, 누군가 이 잠정적인 생각의 편린에 대해 의견을 덧붙이고 나 역시 이를 통해 혼자서만 담아두었을 때는 일어나지 않았을 생각의 전개를 해내야만 한다.

Naturally, all content posted on BITL is incomplete and provisional. While the true nature of these notes will only become apparent through actual practice, they will likely be heavily influenced by the momentary emotions and circumstances at the time of posting. I will probably find many entries should be revised after some time, even by my own standards.
Then, is it valid to leave incomplete content on a webpage that anyone can access at will? Sharing thoughts that are not conclusive and might even be self-contradicted later could be seen as exposing my own vulnerabilities.
For this act to become meaningful, others shall add their perspectives to these provisional fragments of thoughts, and I too shall develop new lines of thinking that wouldn’t have emerged had I kept these thoughts to myself.
